Indications

  • Cerebral circulatory disorders of various origins: Post-stroke conditions, vascular dementia, cerebral atherosclerosis, traumatic and hypertensive encephalopathy, syndrome of the vertebrobasilar arterial system. Alleviation of the mental and neurological symptoms of cerebral circulatory disorders.
  • Chronic circulatory disorders in the retina and choroid of the eyes.
  • Sensorineural hearing loss, Ménière disease, tinnitus.

Dosage

  • 5 – 10 mg 3 times daily.
  • No dosage adjustment is necessary in patients with renal or hepatic impairment.

Usage

  • Oral use. The tablets should be taken after meals.
  • Hypersensitivity to vinpocetine or to any of the ingredients.
  • Pregnancy and lactating women.

Uncommon:

  • Headache, dizziness, giddiness, drowsiness;
  • Excitement;
  • Nausea, dry mouth, abdominal instability;
  • Feeling hot, hypotension.
  • The drug should be used according to individual diagnosis in case of patients with heart diseases. ECG monitoring is recommended in patients with prolonged QT interval or in people taking concomitant medications that cause QT prolongation.
  • Patients with rare hereditary problems of galactose intolerance, total lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption should not take this medicine.
  • No studies on the effects of vinpocetine on the ability to drive and use machines have been performed. The adverse reactions that may affect to the ability to drive and use machines are: headache, dizziness, giddiness, drowsiness, arrhythmia, increased psychomotor activities, agitation and restlessness. The frequency of these effects is uncommon or rare.
