Lorastad 10 Tab. contains loratadine is a potent long-acting tricyclic antihistamine with selective peripheral H1 – receptor antagonistic activity. The product is indicated for the symptomatic relief of allergic conditions including rhinitis and chronic urticaria.

PRESCRIBING INFORMATION

Indications

The symptomatic relief of allergic conditions including rhinitis and chronic urticaria.

Dosage

Adult and children over 12 years: 10 mg once daily.

Children 2 – 12 years:

+ Body-weight over 30 kg: 10 mg once daily.

+ Body-weight under 30 kg: 5 mg once daily.

In patients with liver failure or severe renal insufficiency (cLCR < 30 ml/minute): 10 mg once daily, every other day should be the starting dose.

Usage

Lorastad 10 Tab. is only administered orally.

  • Patients who have shown hypersensitivity or idiosyncrasy to any of the ingredients.
  • Children < 2 years old.
  • Common
    Headache, dry mouth.
  • Uncommon
    Vertigo; nasal dryness and sneezing; conjunctivitis.
  • Use with caution when prescribe Lorastad 10 Tab. for patients with impairment liver.
  • There is risk of dry mouth, especially in elderly, with increased risk of caries. Especially, careful mouth and dental hygiene is therefore needed.
  • Lorastad 10 Tab. contains lactose. Patients with rare hereditary problems of galactose intolerance, total lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption should not take this medicine.
  • Use Lorastad 10 Tab. only if potential benefit justifies potential risk to fetus. A decision should be made whether to discontinue nursing or discontinue the drug in beastfeeding women.
  • Patients should be aware of how they react to drug before driving or operating machinery.
