PRESCRIBING INFORMATION

Indications:

The treatment of scabies and symptomatic management of pruritic skin.

Dosage:

Scabies

  • Apply cream 3 times at each 24 hours. One application uses 30 g cream (adult). Preferably in the evening.
  • The patient should bath or shower with soap and water, taking care to scrub and remove scaling or crusted detritus, then towel dry. A thin layer of the cream should be applied uniformly and massaged thoroughly into all skin surfaces from the neck to the toes, including the soles of the feet in nursling children, paying particular attention to all creases and folds (armpits, inguinal, interdigital…) and massage gently.
  • After the last application, the patient should bath to remove the drug. The dosage can be repeated after 7 – 10 days under the condition that alive scabby mites are found.

Pruritus

  • Apply to the affected area and massage gently into affected areas until completely absorbed. Repeated as needed. Children under 3 years of age, once a day.

Usage:

Crotamiton STELLA 10% is indicated for external use only. Crotamiton cream should not be applied to the eyes, face or mouth.

  • Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.
  • Acutely inflamed weeping skin surfaces.
  • The drug is not indicated for lice infestation.
  • Pruritus. Contact dermatitis, hypersensitivity (rash, eczema, erythema, skin irritation, angioedema). Treatment should be discontinued if severe irritation occurs.
  • In case of longer lasting administration skin atrophy, telangiectasia, striae, steroid induced acne, peroral dermatitis and hypertrichosis cannot be excluded.
  • It is notified that after being treated with crotamiton, the patient can still suffer from pruritus for one or a few weeks later due to hypersensitivity reaction to the mites. This symptom does not mean treatment failures and reuse of drug is contraindicated. Oral antihistamine and topical corticosteroid may be used to help relieve symptoms.
  • All clothing and bed linen of the patient should be washed in hot water and dried in a hot dryer or be dry-cleaned to avoid reinfection or transmission of scabies. Living area of patients is not necessary to disinfected.
  • Do not use the cream near the eyes, the mouth, the vagina, urethral meatus and other mucous membrane or excoriated skin. If the drug contacts with the eyes, around the eyes, the mouth, around the mouth, wash clean with a lot of water.
  • Do not apply the cream on inflamed, denuded, bleeding, or exudative skin surfaces until the situation of inflammation has clearly subsided.
  • If severe irritation or sensitivity reaction occurs, the drug should be discontinued and appropriate therapy initiated.
  • Efficacy and safety of the drug in children have not been established.
  • Crotamiton STELLA 10% has no influence on the ability to drive and use machine.
