Mestad 500

Indications:

Mestad 500 is indicated for single or mixed gastrointestinal infestations by Enterobius vermicularis (pinworm), Trichuris trichiura (whipworm), Ascaris lumbricoides (large roundworm), Ancylostoma duodenale, Necator americanus (hookworm).

Dosage:

One single tablet.

Usage:

The tablets may be chewed and swallowed or crushed and mixed with food.

• Patients with a history of hypersensitivity to the compounds of benzimidazole class or any components of the drug.
• Patients with hepatic impairment.
• Pregnant women (the first trimester).
• Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis.

• Uncommon: Abdominal discomfort, vomiting, nausea, diarrhea, headache, dizziness, tinnitus, frostbite. Some few cases, the roundworm crawls out the mouth and nose.
• Very rare: Exanthema, urticaria, angioedema, hypotension, epilepsy, convulsions.

• Children under 2 years old.
• Pregnant women.
• Nursing women.
• Patients should be aware of how they react to Mestad 500 before driving or operating machinery (cause headache, vertigo).
