Indications

Secondary prevention of myocardial infarction and stroke in patients with a history of these diseases.

Dosage

• Adults and children > 16 years: The usual dosage for long-term treatment is 1 – 2 tablets once daily.
• Children under 16 years: only for Kawasaki.

Usage

Aspirin STELLA 81 mg is administered orally. Tablets should be swallowed whole and should not be crushed or chewed.

• Known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.
• Patients with asthma symptoms, rhinitis or urticaria; history of asthma.
• Patients with a thrombocytopenia; active peptic ulcer, gastric/intestinal haemorrhage, or other kinds of bleeding.
• Patients with moderate to severe heart failure, liver failure, cirrhosis, renal failure (especially those with glomerular filtration rates below 30 ml/min).
• Women in the last 3 months of pregnancy.

Common:

• Nausea, vomiting, dyspepsia, abdominal discomfort, heartburn, stomach pain, gastro-intestinal ulcer;
• Tired;
• Rash, puritus;
• Hemolytic anemia;
• Muscle weakness;
• Shortness of breath;
• Anaphylaxis.

• Caution should be taken when use concomitantly with anticoagulants or when risk of bleeding are existing. Do not combine aspirin with other NSAIDs and glucocorticoids.
• Use with caution for elderly and children; patients with mild heart failure, kidney disease or liver disease, especially when co-administration with diuretics.
• Aspirin STELLA 81 mg contains lactose. This medicine should not be used in patients with rare hereditary problems of galactose intolerance, total lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption.
• Aspirin STELLA 81 mg contains tartrazine lake, may cause allergic reactions.
• Aspirin has no effect on the ability to drive and operate machines.
