Adenosylcobalamin (dibencozide) and methylcobalamin are the primary forms of vitamin B12 in the human body, and are the metabolically active forms required for B12-dependent enzyme function. Dibencozide is the major form in cellular tissues.

PRESCRIBING INFORMATION

Indications:

Adjunctive treatment for children with anorexia, malnutrition and poor growth, relapsed infection, postoperative gastrointestinal disorder, convalescence after serious illness, asthenia in old and elder patients.

Dosage:

Adults and children: 3 – 6 sachets/day in divided doses 3 times daily.

Usage:

Dibencozide STELLA is taken orally. Dissolve the granules in water.

  • Hypersensitivity to any component of drug.
  • Allergic history to cobalamins (vitamin B12 and related substances).
  • Malignant tumor: Since vitamin B12 is related to the development of tissues with high growth rate, may be the risk to impulse the development of these tumors.
  • Patients with allergic status (asthma, eczema).

Pruritus, urticarial, eczema, cutaneous erythema, oedema, anaphylactic shock, Quincke oedema, acne. Color of urine (modification).

  • Dibencozide is used safely for pregnant women.
  • Patients with rare hereditary problems of galactose intolerance, total lactase deficiency or glucose – galactose malabsorption should not take this medicine.
